1 Timothy 1:15 “Hear is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst.”

Why did Christ come into the world?  What is Christ saving the world from?

1 Timothy 1:16 “But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me the worst sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and recieve eternal life.”

Who was shown mercy?  What type of sinner was this person?  What kind of sins would be the “worst” sins?  What kind of patience does God have?  What do patience and mercy have in common?
