1 John 4:19 “We love because he first loved us?”

In a CDD relationship is the husband loving as He first loved us?

1 John 4:20 “If anyone says “I love God”, yet hates his brother, he is a liar.  For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, can not love God whom he has not seen.”

Replace the word “brother” with the word “wife”.  Given what you have learned about love in the previous bible studies, what do you think this verse means?  Would the husband treat his brother that way?  Why or why not?
