Christian Domestic Discipline Bible Study – Part 6 of 8: Liars

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.”  Exodus 20:7

Is a man who is spanking in the name of God, sinning?  Is he misusing the name of Lord your God?

1 John 2:21 “I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.”

What is the truth about Jesus?  Who is Jesus?  What did he die for?

1 John 2:22 “Who is a liar?  Is it the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ.”

What would denying Jesus as the Christ be?  Just what are you denying about Jesus?  Would you be denying that Jesus forgives sins, that your sins are already forgiven, and that nobody needs to be punished for sins that God has already forgiven?
