Jonah: Story of Sin, Forgiveness and Punishment Part 1 of 7

Jonah Part 1 of 7:

I like the story of Jonah, because it’s to do with deliberate sin, and God’s reaction to it.

Jonah was a man, who was told to go to Nineveh and tell everybody there that God’s wrath would rein on them, and to repent.

Jonah didn’t like the people of Nineveh anymore than the feminists and male chauvinist like each other now a days.  To Jonah the people of Nineveh were an evil, ruthless people who deserved to be destroyed, and Jonah didn’t plan on doing anything about it either.

So when Jonah was told this, he angrily went in exactly the opposite direction that God had told him to go.  He boarded a ship to Tarshish and went to sleep.

Question: Have you ever directly gone in the exact opposite direction that God wanted you to go?
